A few hours before this, Conner was smiling, laughing, running around and playing with his cousins inside the cabin in McCall, ID. Nothing seemed wrong. He was our usual happy little boy enjoying himself and his new Woody doll he got for Christmas. Literally, minutes later everything changed.
Sitting in Andrew's lap, laying there, like life didn't exist around him just moments before, something seemed off to all of us. As Andrew held him, he noticed a change very quickly. Conner was on fire. His body burned from head to toe. He lay still, small and enfolded in his daddy's arms.
103.5, read the first temp. Is he really that hot? 103.6 read the second temp taken just seconds after to confirm, as it did. We have got to get this temp down! Looking, and with the help of everyone we find medicine for him. 45 min. later: 104.7, WHAT?!! No Way!! That's Way too high! 104.6. Confirmed. Immediately we stripped him down. Crying, not wanting to get in the bath or suck on an offered otter-pop, he's in, but not for long. Out of the bath and embraced in his mother's arms he is given a blessing. With hands placed on his little head from his dad and grandpa Yorgason, by the power of the Priesthood, a prayer is offered. Our cheeks were wet with the tears of concern as parents would be with any of their children. Anticipation in everyone as we wait for the green blinking light to make that sound to let us know his new temperature. Just under 102. Relief consumes my entire body, along with lingering nervousness; It's going down. More tears streaming down my face. Gratitude and Thanks floods throughout my body. The Lord has definitely been mindful of us and was answering our prayers!
